Its true, its true! After a couple of years of enjoying the car and the moments it has brought I have decided to give up one of my trusty toys so that I can devote the available funds to the other toy. Since I have limited space in my garage and have not been able to do as much as I would like to one of the childhood dreams I finally acquired I have decided to find another home for my 1967 MGB-GT. This decision is more agonizing than I would have previously thought. I have owned many automobiles over the years some great and some destined for the scrap yard as I was handing over my hard earned dollars. The GT is, however, different. I first saw one back in 1968 when I was only 13 years old. My father having a wild British hair had owned a few MGs and Triumphs and was active in the Rocky Mountain Area MG Car Club in Denver, Colorado. Their big event was a weekend rally and concours to Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Not too much unlike us in Spokane doing the same thing in, say, Leavenworth. It was there that I saw a factory fresh white with black interior and chrome wire wheels MGB-GT for the first time. Over the years I had always admired the looks of the car and took the opportunity a couple of years ago to acquire one when the opportunity presented itself. Since acquisition I have become well versed in the early B non-synchro transmission, valve adjustments, tuning dual SU-carburetors, static distributor timing and creative cooling methods. Has it been worth it? You bet! Would I do it again? Wait a minute, Ill ask my wife and get back to you. |
